Dover Sailors' Home |
|
|
The Dover Sailors' Home was inaugurated on 29th November 1893 by Captain
Hall, R.N., of HMS Blenheim and Rev. W. Yate of Dover. The area
in which the home was built was named Blenheim Square in honour of Captain
Hall.
The three artists' impressions on this page all differ in significant detail, so we cannot be sure exactly what the building and its environs looked like. However, the picture above appears to show the church of St John Mariner, in Middle Row, which was associated with the home. |
